Chin Liposuction is a procedure which aims at removing the fat tissue from the area under the chin. The results of liposuction of the chin and neck are frequently spectacular and long-lasting. Chin Liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits directly beneath the skin, but does not remove deeper fat pockets beneath the platysmal muscle. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic and takes about 30 minutes. After the surgery, patients are provided with elastic bandage which has to stay on their head till next day. Swimming pool, bath and sun exposure is not recommended for a month after the surgery. It is advisable to wear an elastic sports band for 3 weeks after the surgery day and night. Regarding the final effects, generally they are visible after 2-3 months after the surgery, when the main swelling goes down.
