Lamp whitening involves placing a rubber dam over your teeth to protect the gums, and a bleaching product is painted onto your teeth. Then with the use of Dental teeth accelerator lamp a light is shone onto the teeth to activate the chemical. The light speeds up the the whitening process, therefore the colour change is achieved more quickly than in other teeth whitening procedures. Lamp whitening is said to whiten the teeth by up to five or even six shades. This procedure takes place during one or two visits, depending on individual needs and expectations, and takes about 30 minutes. The final effect is visible for about two years, however it may vary in different cases. The effect is less likely to last as long as you smoke, eat or drink products that cause teeth discolouration.
Some people may find that their teeth become sensitive to cold during or after the treatment. Others report discomfort in the gums, a sore throat or white patches on the gum line. These symptoms are usually temporary and should disappear within a few days of the treatment finishing.
